Dr Libby Artingstall
Following graduating from Liverpool University Medical School in 2005, Libby gained her Certificate in Completion of Training (CCT) in Forensic Psychiatry in 2014. Throughout her medical training and position as a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, Libby has worked with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of different settings with this more recently being focused within secure hospitals and the prison system. Libby has maintained a longstanding interest in medical education and has obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Clinical Practice. She is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Libby feels passionately about changing the way in which mental health problems are viewed and ultimately ensuring that wide ranges of professionals work together to ensure mental health and wellbeing across our communities. She strongly believes that through increasing the opportunity to identify mental disorder in its early stages, and thus provide appropriate intervention, the negative personal, social and economic outcomes which can be associated with mental health problems could be significantly reduced.
With this in mind, she has diverted her skillset from acute mental health services to tackle the problem more fundamentally and focus on supporting our communities thrive. The outcome was Team Mental Health.
